Written Statement

I chose to capture the turbulence in a peaceful setting. I did this because I wanted to capture the contrast between peaceful and chaotic settings. Turbulence can sometimes be invisible but it is quite evident in water, especially in waterfalls. I chose to use the photos from a waterfall trail in Lorne and I wanted to incorporate nature as a peaceful backdrop to highlight the turbulence in the water. The first photo is of a stream, with the water splashing around with the majestic and fragile greenery around it. I chose to saturate the colours to make it bright and colourful. In the second photo I chose to capture the water dramatically falling off the gigantic rock and splashing on the rocky floor. I have put a neutral coloured filter on the photo. In the third photo I chose to photograph another waterfall from a different angle. I put a black and white filter on it because I thought it was different and it looked good.
