I love to read. When I open a book a new world of imagination comes alive. Stories can be exciting and fascinating. They can start with a simple idea and change in unpredictable ways. I really like the ones that are unpredictable because they are suspenseful. You want to keep reading to find out what happens next. This is like the drops of colour in water. They all start as one small simple drop, but in the water it spreads in unpredictable ways. Just like a good story, you want to keep watching to see the beautiful and interesting patterns it makes and see how they blend together. I hope the photos of the colour drops mixing in water show how turbulence can be beautiful, intriguing and inspiring. It can tell colourful stories.
I photographed the jar up close because I wanted to feature the fluid motion and colours against the backdrop of books in our reading room. Also, I liked the way you can see the reflection of the books in the jar. I used a torch in the last photo to highlight the reflection of the beautiful colours mixed together.
