Natura Morta is an exploration of ‘still’ life, in both the figurative and literal sense. This series depicts the hauntingly beautiful details of death through the imagery of fragile creatures composed in contrast to striking colour.
These images were captured with the intent of a small focus area. Utilising a lower aperture, I was able to draw attention to the incredibly small details of the subject matter. Each image further crops the subject matter compared to the one before, emphasising more and more detail.
As a series, Natura Morta invites the viewer to see the fragile intricacies of death; the shapes, the colours, and the emotion. To understand death through a new lens and witness the hidden beauty hidden within the details.
