WRITTEN STATEMENT

What is at the end of the Amaroo Walkway makes me happy: it’s the beach. A place I love to come to play, to surf and to hang out with my friends. I get excited at the start of the Amaroo Walkway. I get even more excited when there is a surf at the end of the Amaroo Walkway. I am happy when I am there. This series of photos explores the theme through the meaning of Amaroo.

The Amaroo Walkway is a beach access near where I live. It’s a walkway that takes me to my happy place. Amaroo is Indigenous for ‘a beautiful place’. Happiness is beautiful. The photos were shot using a Cannon EOS5D Mark II using a 40mm lens.

The Amaroo Walkway was taken on a shutter speed of 1/80, with an aperture of 3.5.

Amaroo was taken on a shutter speed of 1/250, with an aperture of 2.8.

Lastly, Amaroo 2 was taken on a shutter speed of 1/250, with an aperture of 2.8.
